Reynolds Signature Communities is a part of Reynolds Companies, a Georgia-based company that includes Reynolds Management & Development Company (where sister companies to Reynolds Signature Communities include Reynolds Homebuilding and Reynolds Clubs) and Reynolds Capital Group. The chairman of our firm is Mercer Reynolds, the visionary behind the famed Reynolds Plantation and a former United States Ambassador to Switzerland.

Reynolds Signature Communities is a family company based in the lifestyle established at famed Reynolds Plantation. Our communities and clubs draw on the expertise and vision of the creators of Reynolds Plantation. Both Reynolds Plantation and Reynolds Signature Communities have evolved from the "Linger Longer" philosophy introduced over 100 years ago.

The Linger Longer story began in the early 20th century with a pair of cousins: Mercer Reynolds, Sr. (grandfather of Reynolds Companies' chairman)and James Madison Reynolds. Although both men were born in Greene County, Mercer moved to Chattanooga in the 1920s, while James assembled land in the Greene County area for timber production. In Greene County's Oconee River Valley, the Reynolds family built their beloved hunting and fishing lodge, The Rock House, on land they'd come to call "Linger Longer" ( so named because of Mercer's desire to remain at the retreat when it was time to make the long journey home.) By the 1930s the combined land holdings of the Reynolds family approximated 10,000 acres.

Decades later, a lake was created in the valley, and the grandchildren of the original landowners sought the best use of the land that their family had owned for so many years. In 1985, the vision to build a community where families could establish their own lifelong memories in a pristine, lakefront setting was formed. Reynolds Plantation has since stayed true to the tenets of Building Value Beyond Expectation, Leaving a Legacy, and Growing Responsibly, in Harmony with Nature.

Reynolds Signature Communities is more than a brand — it is a family's commitment, refined over the course of a century, to delivering on promises.
